Our historical stained-glass windows from the old
Saint Michael Church in downtown Van Buren, Arkansas.
When our church moved to its present location on Pointer Trail in the 1980's, we did not purchase the Historical Stained-Glass windows from our old building. They remained installed in the old church until this year, when the new owners informed us of their intentions to renovate the building and remove the stained-glass windows.
This winter (2022-2023) we successfully purchased the following Eight windows from the current owners of the old building. The new owners removed them from the building and helped us transfer them to our new church. We have them in safe storage until we decide what to do with them.
The First of the Eight windows is of the Crucified Christ which had been over the altar of the old church. St. Michael's is going to retain this window for potential future restoration and use.
The next Six windows were along the sides of the church. They are less ornate and are called "Pattern" windows since they are made up mostly of patterns of colored glass rather than of full images.
Four of the "Pattern" windows display the Symbols of the Four Apostles at their tops.
The fifth and sixth of the "Pattern" windows display the Symbols of Saint Joseph, and the Face of Christ.
The last of the Eight windows is a smaller-sized window that had been in the rear of the nave, which displays the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
